Sara Strother’s formal yoga training began in the late summer of 1999. At the age of 18 studies began in Hatha yoga with a deep emphasis on pranayama and meditation. As her studies continued, she received her first teaching certification in 2004 granted by the White Lotus Foundation. Currently, Sara is actively involved in the Anusara yoga community and is recognized as Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher.

After having taught abroad in Japan for 2 years, Sara feels that wherever she goes teaching yoga and volunteering are great ways to connect with the community. Part of Sara's philosophy is to continually seek education to better serve her students and feed her own practice to keep it fresh and dynamic.

Her classes are filled with poetic integration of yoga asana and philosophy to invite elaborate landscapes for exploration. One can expect an energetic class with lots of options to explore all physical ability levels. Considerable attention is given to alignment and recognition of our inherent gifts for an optimal experience on and off the mat.

She is very grateful to have teacher John Friend and the Anusara community as a source of inspiration. Once a student, always a student! Many teachers continue to enrich Sara’s practice and teachings. A considerable amount of her training has been with Sianna Sherman, Noah Maze, Geri Bleier, Darren Rhodes, and Sarah Richelle Starnes.

Anusara’s non-dogmatic and non-dual practices seek to weave a tapestry of moments inviting one to cherish the full fabric of life. A revelation of spirit through all the limbs of yoga, Anusara celebrates and affirms our true nature. It is this Tantric perspective that underlines one’s dharma and life becomes an ongoing yoga practice.
